Welcome to Walderslade On-Line |
This site has been designed to provide a service to the residents of

It's aim is to be a
place where you can share news, views, and information on anything and
everything that can be found locally.
- Its easy to sit back and
criticise, but now a real chance to make your voice heard. If you
full details on this opportunity to tell the community leaders your ideas
The panel consists of Jonathan Shaw MP, PC Mark Pearson (Kent Police),
Martin Adams (Kent Fire & Rescue), and Elaine Steer (Chair of Governors
Walderslade Primary School).
The event is FRIDAY 18TH NOV so dont miss
it.
- Got this e-mail and have been
trying to help... Can you provide any info. on the Hook & Hatchet Public

my grand-mothers father which states the Hook & Hatchet - they are local
people - any info kindly? If anyone can help then please contact

- As you know WOL always tries it's
best to support the community and better still those who try to help
themselves. I received this email this week and hopefully someone out there may
be able to help ...

- We have received the following
request...
I was interested to read the local history section on your
website. I am researching my father's family's history- surname Horlock. My
Uncle in Canada recently sent me a photocopy of an article from a local paper
"...Ham News" in 1958 which recounted the death of my great grandfather Edwin
Horlock at the age of 96. He had lived in Walderslade for 58 years at Queen's
Cottage and was apparently well known in the area as he sawed down two cherry
trees at the age of 95 and at the age of 90 regularly ran from Walderslade to
Borstal to Matsons Pond and Blue Bell Hill and back to Walderslade! Any ideas
how I can find out more about him and where he lived? Grateful for any help eg
what newspaper was it likely to be Chatham or Gillingham? If anyone can help
please email Janet directly.
